Listening

Listening does not begin with words.

Much of human communication is shaped around language that can be spoken, measured, translated, or explained.

And yet, communication within the living world has never been limited to human language.

Other beings communicate continuously.

Through movement.
Presence.
Response.
Emotion.
Energy.
Relationship.

Not all communication arrives as words.
Not all understanding depends on verbal exchange.

Intuitive interspecies communication begins from the recognition that listening is not limited to the human senses and structures through which humans are taught to understand communication.

It asks something different.

Not only:
“What is being said?”

But also:
“What becomes perceptible when we listen differently?”

This form of listening is not about control or interpretation.

It is relational.

It requires presence.
Attention.
A willingness to perceive beyond assumption.

Sometimes what is communicated is clear.
Sometimes it is subtle.
Sometimes the listening changes the human more than the conversation itself.

As listening expands, so too does the possibility of relationship.
What was once dismissed may begin to be recognised.
What was once unseen may begin to enter awareness.

Listening shapes relationship.

Relationship shapes what becomes possible.

What forms of communication already exist beyond the limits of human language?

What changes when listening itself begins to expand?
